Chevron

CASE STUDY: Chevron

THE CHALLENGE:

ARTÉMIA Communications was retained to assist the Chevron Richmond Refinery in the planning and execution of a Chevron Richmond Refinery Small Business & Diversity Event to support their outreach efforts within the city of Richmond. The project was a good faith effort by Chevron for the Richmond Community by reaching out to area minority-owned businesses (MBEs), to teach them how to contract with Chevron. Additionally, the event offered information on building capacity to address how the entrepreneurs might scale their business to meet future contracting requirements.

The particular challenge of this event was the specific criteria for attendees which allowed only for businesses which operated within the City of Richmond and surrounding communities in western Contra Costa and Alameda counties. ARTÉMIA coordinated all aspects of the event planning, working with the Chevron project team, venue staff and MBE representatives to organize a seamless event.

THE SOULTION:

Working with the Chevron team, ARTÉMIA identified those businesses in Richmond and neighboring communities which met the required criteria. From there, our team took over all outreach to the companies, ultimately securing attendance by many of the pre-selected minority-owned businesses.

THE RESULT:

ARTÉMIA worked closely with the MBEs to guarantee the completion of all forms and paperwork required for attendance and used these forms to create the schedules and agendas for all of the MBE attendees and the Chevron staff who interviewed them. Additionally, ARTÉMIA’s design team created the event flyers, event signage, and badges for all of the various attendees as well as creating print invitations, emailed save the dates and an event website. Finally, our team was able to secure PSA placement in local news outlet calendars and radio station. The event was well attended and the ARTÉMIA team was praised for their services by MBE businesses and the Chevron project team.
