When I founded my communications firm in San Francisco 30 years ago, the city was a very different place. Fax machines hummed, couriers ran through downtown towers with thermal paper in hand and most startups were still pitching with physical decks.
Yet even then, San Francisco was fertile ground for visionaries, some ahead of their time, others right on the cusp of market readiness.
