#TwitterTactics to Help Your Business Grow

Twitter marketing used to be just an option for companies to showcase their service offerings but with 550 million people registered and 66.7% of all brand mention happening on the platform, it is a juggernaut that keeps building momentum. More news and trends are share through Twitter than any other social media platform. However, according to Social Media Examiner, 97% of marketers are currently participating in social media—but 85% of participants aren’t sure what social media tools are the best to use. Twitter can be primarily used for branding purposes and gaining potential leads along the way. Starting and growing a thriving Twitter account take time, patience, and a consistent voice. Here are some steps to help your company stand out from the crowd and be heard in the world’s digital market square.

  1. Follow Industry Peers – The only way to gain organic followers on Twitter is to follow other accounts. You can start an account and post interesting Tweets for a long time and not grow your follower’s list. Sooner or later, you will hit a cap and the only way to gain an audience is to actually follow other companies or brand advocates.
  2. Toot Your Horn (But not too much) – It is said that 80% of your Tweets should be about industry news and the rest can be about your company’s promotions. Posting relevant topics that your followers can learn from gives them knowledge and added value. Too much self-promotion can backfire and drive away certain users.
  3. Have Style and Substance – Think of your Twitter profile as an extension of your website. Make sure that the color scheme, profile photos, wallpaper, and contact information are in sync with your company site. Your Twitter handle should also be as close to your company name as possible.
  4. Use a Helping Hand – Finding relevant topics and posting at certain times during the day is a job onto itself. Luckily, there are third party tools to help automate the process. Companies such as TweetDeck and BufferApp allow users to monitor their feed for mentions and direct messages; they also provide some content suggestions to help allocate the time spent on finding them.

Do you have any Twitter strategies and tactics you’d like to share with us? We’d love to hear from you. Follow us and send us a Tweet on our account, @ARTEMIA_Comm. Use the hashtag #TwitterTactics help your business grow and keep the thread going!
