Tips on Creating Engaging Videos

2014 is the year of video marketing for both brands and consumers. A recent study which surveyed more than 1,000 U.S. consumers and more than 500 marketers, found that “59% of consumers are likely to watch branded video on a company website.” Videos are trending on social media sites like Vine and Instagram and are one of the most optimal ways to market to millennials. According to the study, 51% of millennials prefer watching video to reading text with the same information. Forty percent of consumers in older age groups opt for video instead of text, and 42% of all consumers say they like when companies share video content online. Creating high quality videos seem daunting and a hassle to make. However, platforms and technology today are changing this. Here are some tips on creating engaging videos that gets views.

  • Use all mediums – It is a good idea to have a professionally created video that highlights your company’s background and capabilities. This can be used for b2b purposes, product, or investor pitches. Sites such as Vine and Instagram offer users a free way to shoot and upload short video clips. Use platforms as these to post consistent clips to be used for your blog, Twitter, of Facebook.
  • Create useful content – Think about how the end viewer can benefit from watching your videos. You can start by shooting instructional videos on how to use your product or educational clips that highlights your industry’s history and business trends.
  • Frequency – Consider making videos a part of your marketing strategy and add it on your social media or content creation calendar. Shoot video blogs instead of writing them. Uploading your videos frequently on your YouTube page ups your ranking on SEO as well so keep this in mind as a visibility strategy.
  • Buy the right gear – Purchasing a video editing program can go a long way when creating in house videos for your business or your clients. Consider investing in a GoPro to provide different viewpoints for your audience and to add personality to your company.

Consumer attention spans are getting shorter and people want to be engaged to buy your product or service. It’s a smart move to capitalize on this and ride the trend. Creating videos isn’t what it used to be before. You don’t have to spend thousands on video production. Technology keeps improving and we now have ways to create and upload videos on a consistent basis. Get to know ARTEMIA Communications with our own Agency Video.
