Three Tips for Creating Great Content

When it comes to writing blogs, adding content to your web page, and keeping up with social media, coming up with fresh content can be a daunting task. Here are three considerations to take into account when developing content to impress your clients. They may even help you to overcome the dreaded “writer’s block,” too.

1. Be Relevant

It might seem obvious but take a minute (or ten) to think about the wants and needs of your audience. Consider what topics might interest the key stakeholders in the industry you are trying to reach. Start familiarizing yourself with trends and other pertinent news your readers might find compelling. Writing about something that appeals to your audience will encourage them to click through and find your source material. Providing informative copy can help build a following and make you stand out from the crowd.

2. Be Generous

Give, give, give! Readers need a reason to consume your content. They are giving you their precious time to see what you have to say, make sure it’s worth their while. Provide opinions and advice about topics pertinent to your audience’s market sector and they will thank you by reading on and coming back for more. Examples and scenarios might be just the nudge needed to create an engaging conversation, whether online or in person. Which brings us to our third point…

3. Be Engaging

Engaging your audience by posing questions or asking them to share their own experiences is a fantastic way to generate interest and interactivity. You never know what might come of it, maybe some new blog material or possibly even a business opportunity. Creating the chance for dialogue to take place is the key.

Achieve these three points and you will help create a mutually beneficial relationship between yourself and your audience. When your content is relevant, generous and engaging, your readership will take notice and hopefully share it among their friends, family and colleagues, further increasing your reach and following. Great content pays for itself many times over, now get out there and get writing!
