Happy New Year!
If you caught the company blog post we published earlier this week, you’ll know that this year we’re celebrating 21 years in business. As the founder of this agency, I’d like to say thank you to the many valued colleagues who have played such an important part along the way, but also, of course, to our amazing clients – those we have worked with for simple project work or over the course of many years.
At the office, we’ve been reflecting on why the 21st anniversary seems to resonate so strongly as a landmark, and for me, there are several reasons.
First, 21 is traditionally (legally at least) a true “coming of age” figure and that spirit of independence is something that is so central to ARTÉMIA’s core values. We are independent in every sense of the word, and this gives us the freedom to provide our clients with clear-headed, 360 degree thinking. As a company, I continually encourage an ethos of resourcefulness and proactivity – in short, a lack of dependence on anything other than ourselves to ensure we get the job done.
Second, 21 seems an age filled with optimism – an optimism which is influenced by the attitudes and approaches of our many and varied clients. From the confidence and surety of the excellent startups we work with to the continual desire for innovation our corporate clients seek. As I have said before, we have a strong commitment to learning at ARTÉMIA and having clients who continue to inspire you to do so certainly makes it an enjoyable experience. And within the WBENC and Astra communities, in which I have been active over several years, the can-do – or rather will-do – attitude makes us know there is so much more to achieve.
Although 21 years have passed in the blink of an eye, an enormous amount has still happened over that time. Technology has transformed the marketing and communications industry, and indeed so many aspects of our lives. We’ve lived through two major tech booms, and one almighty bust, and are here to tell the tale and share our insights.
So, I’m grateful in so many ways that our agency has reached this point, and grateful also for it giving me this moment to pause and take stock of the past and present, and envision the future.
I hope 2016 is a great year for you and look forward to working with you as we continue our journey.
