As a marketing and communications agency, we strive to provide our clients advertising options that allow them to precisely target their audiences thus ensuring excellent return on investment. So when news of advertising startup AdverCar came out, it immediately roused our curiosity.
The San Francisco-based company pays drivers to put ads on their cars, bringing new meaning to the term ‘mobile advertising.’ By using a GPS signal and self-reported driver information, AdverCar allows advertisers to target specific ZIP codes and commuter routes.
Cars are dressed up with easily removable standard-size ad stickers that are placed on the front, rear and sides of the vehicle. With no way for the audience to turn them off, fast-forward past them or ignore them while passing by, AdverCar allows advertisers maximum exposure for the same price as publicity placed on taxicabs.
The company recently secured $2 million in a seed funding round led by Canaan Partners and is poised for growth. Keep your eyes open, you might just see your favorite brand waiting beside you at the next red light soon.
