How To Build Your Social Following

In our modern world, social media seems to be king.

Whether it is Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest or some other social platform, people are constantly engaging with each other. As a result, building a strong online following is critical to the success of any business. According to Ambassador, 71% of consumers are likely to recommend a brand to others if they have positive experiences with that brand on social media. That being said, this article will walk you through how to build your social following and create a positive impact that will catapult your brand.

Link your social channels everywhere.

One of the best ways to get your social media out there is by linking to your profiles whenever possible. Some great places to link to your socials include your website,  the bottom of all emails, your blogs, even on your other social media profiles. The idea of this is to connect with people who are already engaged with your brand but may not know where else to find you. Letting your customers connect with you on this level can help foster a stronger commitment and allow them to feel like they are immersed in your brand.

Once you have your base following it is time to connect with potential customers. A great way to do this is with influencer networking. Reaching out to influencers who relate to your brand and can act as ambassadors will help you reach others who may not be aware or who may not completely trust your brand yet.

According to a survey done by Collective Bias, over 70% of millennial consumers are influenced by the recommendations of their peers.

This means that by connecting your brand with influencers that others trust; your company can gain more reliability.

Another way to connect with new customers is by guest blogging on other sites. Guest blogging promotes your brand messages and helps promote you as a thought leader in your field. Having a strong voice in your field will lead to more brand awareness, thus increasing your social following.

Building your base following is just the start though. After successfully gaining social traction, you should begin to think about how you can engage that following to keep them actively excited about your brand. Great ways to do this are by offering discounts and coupon codes, introducing giveaways and also staying consistent on your platforms. Giveaways are a great way to keep your audience engaged while simultaneously connecting with new customers. Often times these giveaways require your followers to share or tag someone in your post and then bring more exposure to your company. Consistency is also key because it makes your brand easily understandable and reliable. The areas you should focus your consistency on are the frequency of your posts, the message and theme of your posts and finally, your social media handles.

By implementing these tactics into your social strategy, you’ll be sure to connect with new users and build your social following. For more information about social media marketing and for even more tips about creating a successful social strategy, contact us here or call us at 415-351-2227.
